The Berber capital is both a city of the past, a precious coffer of centuries of history, art and culture and a great metropolis of contemporary Morocco, a unique country in Africa, a crossroads for the black continent, the Arab world and Europe.

Marrakech life alternated moments of splendor and glory with long years of obscurity. It was built and destroyed more than once and still today bears witness to the past splendor of its troubled and fascinating history.  Marrakesh is a major city of the Kingdom of Morocco. It is the fourth largest city in the country, after Casablanca, Fez and Tangier. The city was once the capital of all Marocco, it sprang up as a great Berber metropolis, a symbol of the pride of this nomad race, having a hard life bounded by the sea of the Sahara sand and the Atlas mountain chain and its snow covered peaks.

EN: My favorite place in Medina is Bahia Palace one of the loveliest and richest to be found in Marrakesh. Bou Ahmed resided here with his four wives, 24 concubines and many children. With a name meaning “brilliance”, it was intended to be the greatest palace of its time, designed to capture the essence of Islamic and Moroccan architectural styles and took seven years to be built. It’s amazing!!!
