EN: One country with a big part of my heart, and I will always return there with pleasure, is Portugal. After our PORTO  journey, I will invite you to ALMADA, located on the Tagus River’s southern margin.

You can go to Almada by ferry boat, car driving on the 25 de Abril Bridge or train… I choose the ferry on one sunny, hot and beautiful day, with great friends!!

RO: Aceasta tara detine o importanta parte in inima mea si intotdeauna m-as intoarce cu placere in Portugalia. Dupa calatoria noastra in Porto, va invit in Almada, oras localizat in sudul raului Tagus.

EN:  Almada came from the Arabic word “al-Ma’dan” and means “mine.” During the Arab occupation of the Iberian Peninsula, there was a fortress to guard and defend the entrance of enemies through Rio Tejo (Tagus River) and having grown up as an agriculture and fishing area.

EN: If you want to feel like in Rio de Janeiro (on my list one day), the best choice is to visit Santuario Nacional del Cristo Rei, at least you can imagine you are there, and it is in Europe:))))

by Ada@

EN: If you not afraid of the highest, it is a must to try the Elevador Panoramico da Boca do Vento; you will have a beautiful view of Lisbon and also Almada.

by Ada@

EN: If you are hungry they are plenty of restaurants near the river, with a stunning view and great seafood dishes, just amazing… And if I didn’t tell you before, I really think the Portuguese are funny, friendly, hospitably people.

One funny restroom to prove my words from the last paragraph

EN: We had visited a beautiful ship, but I have to admit I don’t remember the name or it was part of Almada Naval Museum ( maybe you will now) but a wonderful experience and plenty of fun moments…

by Ada@
